Resonance End of Year Concert

Join us at the Castlemaine Town Hall for an afternoon of great music on Resonance String Orchestra's annual concert afternoon.
We will be performing in two concerts, one starting at 2.30pm and one at 4.30pm. You can purchase tickets for either of the two concerts - or for both. The repertoires of the two performances will have only minimal overlap, and a sumptuous afternoon tea will be available between the two performances. Please buy your $5 per person ticket for afternoon tea along with your concert ticket(s).
There is reduced pricing for those attending both concerts (choose the option "second concert add-in" for the second concert if you are also buying a ticket for the first concert).
You will be treated to performances by Resonance String Orchestra, the newly formed Apprenti Strings Junior Orchestra in collaboration with Maryborough Education Centre, the Resonance Cello Ensemble, the 2025 Resonance String Quartet (tutored by Zoe Knighton under Resonance's partnership with Flinders Quartet) and Resonance soloist Thomasina Challender.
Afternoon Tea is served between the two performances - buy your ticket before the day!

Concert One (2.30pm) will feature:
Respighi's beloved Ancient Airs and Dances Suite 3, film favourites fromThe Da Vinci Code and How to Train Your Dragon, a world premiere of Earth by Resonance's own Co-Artistic Director and Composer in Residence Emma Wade, Apprenti Strings (Gap of Dunloe, Conquistador), and a trademark arrangement of a Danish String Quartet work.

Concert Two (4.30pm) will feature:
The third of our series of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Summer, with Resonance soloist Thomasina Challender, the Resonance cello ensemble performing Heart of Courage, the divine slow movement from Dvorak's American String Quartet, works by Jenkins (Palladio) and Sibelius (Andante Festivo), Howl's Moving Castle, and a Danish String Quartet work.
